Starring Richard Harris, Richard Burton, Roger Moore and Hardy Kruger, The Wild Geese (1978) is one of the greatest war films of all time. That said, it is nearly RUINED by berets that would shame a Week 1 Recruit (pain alleviated by the wonderful Joan Armatrading):

  1. Well, it WAS the 80’s…I thought this was the best mercenary film I ever saw. Loved the UZI’s and the interplay between the Afrikaan and the “Kaffir”. The Poison darts at the guard towers was also cool. The hats certainly were over the top, but the real military special units of the time were not dressed much differently! Good Job!

  2. Also, how sensible was it for them to take such a wide array of differing small arms, requiring multiple different natures of ammunition?

Maybe I think these things through too much………..
